Aquatic Biodiversity in Tennessee

January 25 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The unusual high biodiversity of our state is not random, but the result of natural history variables that can be readily explained. Threatened and endangered species are not all alike in their population situations and vulnerabilities – some have been reduced to a fraction of their former range, others were always extremely habitat limited. Some are extremely sensitive to pollution or physical disturbances, others appear to be naturally rare in occurrence. Join Jonathon Burr, Deputy Director at the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, to learn more about how our region become so rich in biodiversity and see photos of some rarely observed organisms.
